Frequently Asked Questions

Hypnotherapy Diploma Course - Frequently Asked Questions

Here we aim to answer any questions you may have regarding the Course.  If you have a question that isn't answered here, please email our support team at info@hypnoticworld.co.uk for a helpful response within 48 hours.

Q. What qualifications do I need to train in Hypnotherapy?

A. No formal qualifications are required to become a Hypnotherapist; for some people the aim is to help friends or family or just to satisfy their own curiosity - others go on to make a successful and rewarding career out of hypnotherapy. All you really need is a genuine interest and a desire to succeed.

Q. How does the training take place?

A. A large proportion of the course is written material with question papers to keep track of your progress and make sure that you fully understand the content. The course includes 8 text manuals, four double-sided cassettes of inductions/therapies/relaxation music and conversation with a special ‘Confidence for Hypnotherapists’ recording (to get you started). If you are able to travel to Doncaster you will be offered the chance to receive additional individual and/or small group tuition. If you are not able to travel, then you may, if you wish, submit video recording(s) for assessment but this is not compulsory.

Q. When does the course begin?

A. Because the course is largely distance learning based, you may begin the course at any time you wish and study it at your own pace.

Q. What if I don’t understand any part of it?

A. On-line support and advice is available 24 hours a day or via the telephone. With your first lesson you will receive a glossary of hypnotic terms for you to refer to should you feel the need.

Q. How can I meet other Hypnotherapists?

A. Many students enjoy entering into discussions, debates and personal chat about hypnosis and hypnotherapy on www.hypnoticworld.com  and other, similar interest web sites. We will also endeavour to put you in touch with other therapists in your area and hold workshops and meetings regularly.

Q. I can’t afford the fees at the moment, is there a less expensive way of paying?

A. The complete eight-part training program may be purchased as a home study "Pay As You Learn Course", upon request. Students simply pay as they study, only paying for each section of the program as and when they are ready to progress to the next module level. This means that the course is open and within the availability of anyone, regardless of their financial status, and may be achieved by our option to allow students to spread the cost of the training over a convenient period of time.

Q. What happens if I fail the exam?

A. Your understanding of the course is assessed at each level through question papers that are included with each lesson. If you do not appear to have understood any particular aspect of the course you will be guided in the right direction with valuable feedback. In the extremely unlikely event of failing an exam, students are given the opportunity to retake free of charge.

Q. I am interested in buying the Course but what is my guarantee that  I will learn hypnosis by the end of it.

Each Module comes with a money back guarantee if returned in its original condition within 8 days.  The Course is extremely comprehensive and teaches you everything you need to know to become a proficient Hypnotherapist. All previous Course students have gone on to establish their own successful practice, and we are very committed to providing quality material and ongoing support. Students can attend our workshops as many times as they like, or feel necessary, and in the unlikely event that, at the end of 8 lessons, you did not feel competent to hypnotize someone, you would receive personal coaching from your assigned tutor until you felt ready to commence.

Q. How safe is my money if I use PayPal to purchase the Course?

Q. Can you confirm please that I have understood this correctly:
For £54.00 a module (max of 8) I shall be able to hypnotize myself and others without necessarily being taught on a one to one. (I appreciate there are meetings after module 5 available). I would then have sufficient training to openly offer this as a therapy to the public.

After which module does the practical come into play or is it all theory up to mod 5.
I am a registered homeopath and a meridian therapist (EFT/TAT/BSFF) and have to learn by 'doing' rather than something too 'intellectual' these days!!  Would this course be ok for me? As a guide what would you consider average daily 'study time'.

If I did decide to do it I would want the meetings/workshops to take place together owing to distance in travelling (3-4 hrs away??)

A.  Each module costs approximately £54.00 and there are 8 in total, the final one comprises mainly scripts and resources. One to one sessions normally take place after session four or five but this is flexible.

The written material covers the theory side of hypnosis and can be studied at your own pace, so you can spend as little or as long as you like working through the text. the reading is easy to understand and the glossary of hypnotic terms that comes with lesson one covers any terminology you might come across. The lessons themselves are quite straightforward with question papers after each lesson to ensure you understand what you've learned. Some of these include case histories and often there are no right or wrong answers - just to help you think around different situations that you might come across.

The workshops are ongoing, and varied in content so you are welcome to come along to as many as you wish. As a student, attendance would be free; where ever possible the gatherings are kept fairly small (between 8 - 12 people) as it is more personal and gives people a chance to get to know each other.

As you already have training in homeopathy and meridian therapy you should find the Course easily covers your needs - you will already have skills in rapport building and some of the other concepts included in the Course. I would think you would be well equipped to offer hypnotherapy to the public after completion of the Course (but if for any reason any student did not feel ready, they would be offered extra tuition).

We would prefer students with no knowledge of psychology to read around the subject a bit and a recommended reading list is included with the first module. Many people say that once they get into the Course they find it so fascinating (the mind & hypnosis) that they want to read as much as they can about it.

Once you have learned how to hypnotize someone you will also know how to hypnotize yourself. This means that you can 'work with' any areas of your own life (confidence or modeling for example) in order to become as effective as you would like to be.

I hope this helps - but if you need any further advice, or if you would like to speak to me about any aspect of the Course, please don't hesitate to email me or phone 01302 786977.
